Mr. Hatch, fresh out of the U.S. military, opened the first “CLARK HATCH FITNESS CENTER” in Azabu, a prestigious area in Tokyo. The Club proved to be very popular and was only open to men at that time. Over the years many movie actors, professional wresters, business men and expatriates enjoyed the upmarket facility (at that time). The Club closed around 2005 as a result of the building being sold and redeveloped.
The group continued to expand throughout Asia and in the year 2000, “Clark Hatch Fitness Centers” opened a Country Club type facility in Shanghai. The Club, in joint cooperation with a Chinese Hotel Management Company, offered an olympia sized swimming pool, tennis courts, spa as well another facilities. Clark Hatch attracted top executives, high Government officials, successful business people and residences in the area.
Clark Hatch International is upgrading its branches across Asia beginning with Malaysia. This strategy will bring more technology, aesthetic design and a focus on community group training in our Clubs in order to meet market demands and realign the group with modern trends. Clark Hatch International "believes" in creating a positive environment that provides members with encouragement as well as flexibility in their daily exercise routines. We strongly "believes" in supporting the community thru fitness. We have always been a market leader from it's establishment in 1965 until today. Trends change but peoples needs and wants remain the same.
